I hate to take life lessons from a movie, but….
A wise man once said (at 2:00) that “a person shouldn’t believe in isms.”
I hate to take life lessons from a movie, but….
Classic.
I have the bestest best friends.
Did you know this post has been in gestation for nearly one whole week? I’ve been thinking and thinking and thinking about it…and you know what they say: write or get off the ‘Press.
I ordered my Queer the Census sticker a while ago, and I was holding out on the paperwork until it arrived. The Census bureau got so itchy-fingered that they sent me another Census form. How kind.
I finally received my sticker about two days ago, and have thusly created a video demonstrating how I queered the Census.
I wonder if they will find my response worth the wait and extra postage.
It may be a little late now to get your stickers, but! Never you fear! You can print out your own sticker to seal your Census form with!
You may or may not remember a certain Tweet in which I “queered” my closet (Hah!).
I bet you didn’t believe me.

I have a silver and gold section too.

Ironically, I got a gig this week shooting cars for this exhibit at my alma mater (ironically).

I was also assigned to take photos of the library.

Again, ironic.
Don’t you think?
Aaand if you’re sitting at home wondering what to do with your weekend, wonder no more.
So remember how I was talking about being a bone marrow donor? Well, I finally registered with BeTheMatch.org and I just received my tissue sample kit in the mail sooo I thought I’d document the process and hopefully inspire others to go out and do good (Donation or otherwise).
Signed, sealed, (almost) delivered.

Speaking of matches, this was completely unintentional.

Oh my goddd, it’s Friday! That means that tomorrow is Club STRAPPED! Hold me back! My excitement cannot be contained!
And since I like to keep this blog strictly business (HappyLand is officially in business now), I post my funny business over at Dance Connection, so look at it. Seriously.
I’m procrastinating.
I even made a video.
About procrastinating.
But you know what’s even better than my video?
Yeasayer’s video for “ONE” is (much much) better.
Maybe if I am a good girl and finish all my work, I’ll look up something on Dance Connection (Nameless Virtue looks pretty rad) and get a little hot hot pink tonight.
Or maybe I will just continue listening to “ONE” on repeat.
Redeeming the Aveda Pure Privilege reward points I’d been racking up since 2004, I had enough for a trip to the salon. I hate admitting this, but god, a day at the salon can be so relaxing. There are few things I can justify indulging myself in and Aveda is definitely one of them.
The other is my vanity.
On the way to the salon, I was blasting this song out of my car windows -- same girl, same song, (almost) same car, just ten years older and not that much wiser.
Then I told my stylist I wanted streaks in this particular shade of pink. (I need those pants for so many reasons.)
I came home and took that photo of myself (taking a photo of myself) which was very much inspired by this video (Which left an indelible mark on my creative sensibilities when I saw it as an impressionable teenager).
Am I right? Or am I right.
